Get ready for an incredible Diwali celebration!
We are delighted to invite you and your family to this year’s Diwali festival celebration, filled with joy, laughter, and cultural delights. The event promises an unforgettable experience, featuring a renowned Marathi play, “Bolat,” along with exciting activities and delectable food. This play recently won first prize in a competition in Charlotte. Here are the details:
Date: Sunday 19th Nov, 2023
Time: 4.30 PM
Venue: Hindu Center of Virginia
Program Outline:
- Annakut(Food Competition): Showcase your culinary skills in our Annakut! Categories include appetizers, one-pot meals, and desserts. Please bring at least half a tray of your delicious creation. Participants should come at the venue at 3 PM for food setup.
Ideas for one pot meal include any rice prepartion, pasta etc - Marathi Play – “Bolat”: Immerse yourself in the captivating storyline and stellar performances of our talented actors.
- Dandiya: Let the rhythm guide your feet as we celebrate the spirit of Diwali through dandiya.
- Dinner: Indulge in a sumptuous feast featuring a variety of delectable dishes.
- Karaoke: Sing your heart out with our karaoke session. Each family can showcase their musical talents with one entry.
- Diwali Tradition: We encourage all members to bring some Diwali treats ( Diwali faral or any other dishes) to share with everyone, fostering the cherished tradition of togetherness. Bring in quantity sufficient for at least about 8-10 people.
- Photo Booth: Capture the joyous moments with your loved ones at our Diwali-themed photo booth.
Entry Fee:
- $10 per person
- $25 max per family. If you have three or more members, you pay $25. So if you have Visiting parents you pay $25 for the entire family.
We eagerly anticipate your presence at this festive occasion. Please RSVP by Tuesday, Nov 14th to ensure we have ample arrangements for everyone.
